Frequently Asked Questions
→ Does Tacswap cost?
Tacswap charges an annual fee of $20 for basic tacswap accounts to 1) reduce the likelihood of fake / fraudulent accounts and 2) to provide coverage of running expenses and the development of Tacswap and its offerings to users. This tier includes everything that has previously been included in Tacswap subscriptions and will not inhibit any ability to buy, trade or sell. On top of previous features, Basic members will receive $10 in credits upon subscription dues being paid.
As of 2025, Tacswap is now offering a Pro tier that will charge an annual fee of $60. This tier is for frequent users that can now take advantage of additional features. Pro members have first access to tools and continually developing features that improve the Tacswap experience all-around. Pro accounts will receive $20 in credits upon subscription dues being paid.
→ What is Auto Credit?
Auto crediting is a feature for Pro accounts that enables an auto-recharge of credits once that account depletes its current credit balance. This can be managed and set up in Account Settings. In order to enroll in Auto Bumps, users must have this feature enabled. This is to prevent interruptions and conflict with Auto Bump scheduling.
→ What is Auto Bump and how does it work? PRO Badge
Auto bumping is a new feature released at the start of 2025 for Pro tier accounts. This feature allows Pro users to schedule listings for autobumps - which are prescheduled bumps. Autobumps are managed and created for each individual listing. You are able to select which days of the week you would like to have bumps automatically take place. There is no way to adjust which times autobumps will take place. If left unmanaged, autobump scheduling for a listing will automatically conclude 30 days after autobumps were initially scheduled. In order to utilize this feature, autocredits must be enabled.
→ How do I update my profile picture or Avatar? PRO Badge
The ability to upload a custom profile picture or Avatar is a Pro feature. To update your Avatar, navigate to Account, here you will notice an “Update Avatar” button under what would be your profile picture. Profile photo size must be less than 3MB.
You can also update your Avatar from the menu at the top of your own profile page.
→What are Credits and why are they required?
Credits are purchased through the site and used to post for sale, wanted to buy, or wanted to trade posts. Credits can also be used to bump posts back to the top of the feed and for other future premium features. Credits can be purchased in volume and are retired as users complete specific actions throughout the site.
You can view your credit transaction history for all purchasing and use of credits by navigating to: Account > Transaction History.
→ How do I create a post?
Once you have created an account you may create as many post/listings as you like. Our posting content is very simple and fast to make it easier for both the user and audience to view and find items.
On the main Tacswap page touch or navigate to the header icon with the “+” symbol. Click this icon and begin entering the product information including post title, description, images, price, etc. Once you have all of the information in the post form completed click “Create Post”. The item will appear immediately in the feed, on your Profile Page and in your Active Listings.
→ How can I contact someone about a post?
There are two ways to communicate with another user regarding a post or listing. You can make a public comment, which is good for asking general questions that other users may benefit from or sharing knowledge around the post. For a more private or direct discussion, you can message the user from the message icon under the post image or directly from their profile. We encourage all public comments to be geared towards relevant questions regarding the post content or specific details. Please do not use this for trolling or leaving derogatory comments.
→ What do Blocking and Hiding Listings do and how do I do it?
The blocking of a profile will disable that profile from messaging you directly and also from commenting on your listings, however their listings will still populate on your feed. Feedback is still enabled for those that you block.
If you Hide a user’s listings then their listings will no longer populate on your primary feed but they will not be Blocked.
To Block someone, navigate to the menu at the top of the individual account profile that you would like to block. Once clicked you will see a Report and Block User option.
To Hide someone’s posts, navigate to the menu at the top of a user’s account page. Within that menu, you will see the option to Hide this user’s posts.
To Unblock, navigate to Account Settings > Manage contacts > Blocked Users. You can also arrive at this menu from your own profile page directly via the same top menu that you would use to block another profile.
→ What are badges?
Badges will indicate a user's level of activity and participation in the Tacswap community. All badges except certain ones such as Supporter or Verification badges are achieved over time through milestone use of the site. They are displayed on user profiles and aim to help further solidify credibility of users.
→ How do I pay or purchase something from someone?
Once you have contacted a user through the messaging system it is up to the two parties to arrange their trusted method of payment and transaction exchange. Tacswap advises using only secured methods of payment and does not provide any payment protection between transactions. If this user has little to no feedback, it does not mean that they are a scammer, but it may be wise to exercise a healthy level of caution and consideration before sending them any funds or items.
→ What are Tacswap credits?
While it is not required to purchase credits to make a post, credits are required to bump your post. Tacswap does not charge posting fees or take a percentage of any transaction and thus credits are needed to bump your post to the top of the page.
→ How do you leave feedback on a seller?
If you have dealt with a seller or user and would like to leave feedback you can do this by clicking on their username at the top of their post or using the standard url: www.tacswap.com/user/USERNAME. Once you are at the user’s listing page there is a tab for feedback. The most recent feedback left will be at the top of the list with the comment for new feedback at the bottom. The feedback section is only to be used for actual transaction based feedback and not for commenting.
→ What is Verified Feedback and how does it work?
Verified feedback allows users to leave seller initiated feedback for a post that has been marked “sold” to a specific user. A user will be required to comment or message prior to being marked sold or their name will not be visible to select by the selling party. A message will be sent to the buyer within their notifications center letting them know they have pending feedback. Once feedback has been left by both parties, feedback will be posted to the "verified feedback" tab on both profile pages.
As a seller, it is your role to initiate the verified feedback flow by toggling your listing to “pending” or “sold” and then selecting the account that is the buying party. As the buyer, it is your role to close the feedback loop after the seller begins the process and leaves feedback for you first.
→ What do I do if I suspect a fake posting or fraud account?
Please flag for review by selecting to flag on either the account or an individual listing. A member of the Tacswap team will review and take action based on their findings. If you are 100% certain that this is a scam, consider leaving a comment on fraudulent listings to help prevent unsuspecting users from getting scammed prior to Tacswap team members being able to assess and take action.
→ What types of products or items can I post?
While we do not completely regulate the post content we do monitor the types of post on a regular basis. We believe that the value of the Tacswap community exists and continues to grow because of the flexibility and freedoms we allow. However, we do ask that posts remain relevant to 2nd Amendment related products, gear and the like thereof.
→ How do I report a scammer?
For any suspicious account or possible scammer posts please use the Flag icon on the post page.
→ How do I edit my feedback?
You can not edit feedback once it has been left and Tacswap will NOT modify or remove feedback for ANY reason. We request that you try to leave only one feedback per transaction or dealing. The feedback features while open to the community honor system is not to be used for problem resolution or general user commenting. If a user is found misusing the feedback feature whether for its own or others, their account may be suspended.
